We wish to inform you of some changes within the Office of Enterprise Risk and Assurance (ERA) which will come into effect next month.
Jennifer Kain, the Chief Assurance and Risk Officer, will be leaving UBC in September. At that time, Allen Amyotte, who is currently Director, Internal Insurance, will take on the role of Interim Chief Assurance and Risk Officer.
ERA was established in 2018 with the integration of the previously separate Enterprise Risk Management and Internal Audit functions. Jennifer was UBC’s very first Chief Assurance and Risk Officer, and has been instrumental in helping the university establish a best-in-class enterprise risk and assurance function. Under her leadership, ERA has served as a strategic partner to the UBC Executive and Board of Governors, supporting them in fulfilling their risk oversight responsibilities.
We are grateful to Jennifer for her contributions to ERA and UBC as a whole, and wish her well in her next venture. Please join us in thanking Jennifer, and welcoming Allen to the role of Interim Chief Assurance and Risk Officer.
