UBC has embarked on a search for a new Chief Enterprise Risk & Assurance Officer. We are grateful and thank Allen Amyotte, Interim Chief Enterprise Risk & Assurance Officer for stepping into this role last year and providing leadership to the Enterprise Risk & Assurance team. Reporting to the Vice President, Finance & Operations and the Audit Committee of the Board, the Chief Enterprise Risk &Assurance Officer is responsible for the vision, strategic leadership and direction as UBC’s executive Internal Assurance and Enterprise Risk Management leader. This position is responsible for leadership of Internal Assurance & Enterprise Risk Management’s mandate and objectives to successfully deliver on UBC’s strategic objectives and current and future needs.
A significant responsibility of this position is to establish and strengthen relationships across the university to deliver its mandate. This involves engaging with diverse stakeholders, understanding their purpose and mandate, and ensuring strong corporate governance by managing all types of risks, social, ethical, environmental, financial and operational.
The Chief Enterprise Risk & Assurance Officer utilizes enterprise-wide risk management frameworks to support risk mitigation efforts by university leaders. Similarly, this role is responsible for providing both assurance and consulting services to govern and manage risk and control processes to ensure the university achieves its strategic, operational, financial and compliance goals.
